Adult Extra Small
has anyone elses child had extra incisor teeth?
My daughter has 2 extra baby incisors on the top row, and x-rays show she has the adult extras aswell. She also has a small mouth so its very crowded in there. Shes 9 now, and seeing the consultant at the hospital regularly. When the adult ones are through she will need to have them out under general anaesthetic. And then probably another brace to straiten things up. She currently has one already as the overcrowding caused her front top tooth to protude out. Shes also slow at losing her baby teeth, currently shes lost four bottom teeth and three bottom. Otherwise extremely healthy and normal and pretty!! Anyone else had similar problems?? I looked it up on google with no joy so thinking it may be a little rare??

I had one that took years but finally came out on it's own. The dentist never said anything and in the end, when I had finally been able to pull the baby one out, my adult incisor was permanently stuck where it was until I got braces to fix it many, many years later. Because the tooth was shoved back it was causing my jaw to sit irregularly and causing mass damage to my joints. Feel lucky that you have a dentist that noticed these things early and has given you the knowledge on how to fix it before it causes your daughter to have to get braces at a later age (Mine was at 18 and was mortifying).
